TWolves at Blazers. The best game of this small 4 game slate comes at the very end of the night. We expect all of the other games to be very low scoring, but this one may be a scoring barrage. Both teams are red hot lately. Damian Lillard has been on a tare lately, but the Wolves have been one of the best teams in the NBA defending opponent’s point guards. Damian Lillard is not a great start tonight.

The point guard to start in this game is Ricky Rubio, who js coming off a monster performance last night against the Lakers. He may be a bit fatigued, but he is just unbelievable in terms of points, assists, and steals. This game is going to stay close so we recommend targeting it. With all the other games being horrible games to target in terms of DFS production, you may want to target this game as much as you can. UNLESS the Cavalier’s starters all play tonight, then you may want to give that game some consideration.

PF Nikola Mirotic
C Robin Lopez

Injuries- Payne, Wade, Falicio (GTD)

Start Em- Rajon Rondo, Jimmy Butler, Nikola Mirotic

Sit Em- Denzel Valentine

Sixers vs Bulls. This game is the one that we will be stacking. Especially on the Bulls end. Jimmy Butler, Rajon Rondo, and Nikola Mirotic are all excellent starts against a Sixers defense that is really up and down, but allow a ton of points. Jimmy Butler without Dwayne Wade is unstoppable, and he plays a Sixers defense that is pretty solid against Small Forwards, but Jimmy Butler should rise to the occasion and dominate this Sixers team. The game is not projected to be real high scoring, but there is some great value in this game, especially that this game should stay fairly close. This game has a ton of value, so do not overlook it due to the over/under.

suns heat

Start Em – Dragic, James Johnson

Sit Em – Josh Richardon

Suns vs Heat- The young Phoenix Suns come into Miami trying to pull together a win. The Suns have been terrible this year, but their future is looking very bright led by Tyler Ulis. This game is going to be the highest scoring game of the slate so take advantage of it. Tyler Ulis has been on a tear since Bledsoe has been shutdown for the season. He faces a very tough matchup against Goran Dragic and the rest of the Miami Heat squad, who are top 10 in defending point guards. Tyler Ulis is still going to play heavy minutes especially with Devin Booker being questionable for tonight’s matchup. He should see 35+ minutes making him a great play.

On the other side of things, James Johnson EXPLODED the other night and should continue to do so against a porous Suns defense. With Waiters being sidelined, James Johnson’s usage becomes greater than anyone else on the team. Look for him to play extremely well once again. The hardest part about this game is the blowout risk. Miami at home is very good, and the Suns away are very bad, which makes this game hard to stack, but if it stays close, this is the game you want to target.

nuggets rockets

Start Em- James Harden, Clint Capela

Sit Em- Patrick Beverly

The second half of a home and home series between the two highest scoring teams in the NBA square off in Houston. The other night, the Nuggets could not get the shot to go at the end of the game, leading to Houston taking game one. This game is going to very high scoring so make sure that you plug at least 2-3 players from this game into your lineup. The player that stands out the most is James Harden, who is the only person to record back to back triple doubles scoring 40+ points. Tonight it may be 3 consecutive nights as he faces the same Nuggets defense that rank last in the NBA vs Guards, but this time at home.

This game is going to set records in scoring for regulation games. We predict the over/under is going to be around 245 points, which crushes any other matchup on the slate. Target this game heavy even with Russell Westbrook on the slate. If you can find a way to manage taking Westbrook and Harden in your lineups, do it. This game is going to insane so be aware of Harden putting up another monster game.

Injuries- Gay, Richardson, Evans (GTD)

Suns Projected Starters
PG Eric Bledsoe
SG Devin Booker
SF Derrick Jones
PF T.J. Warren
C Marquese Chriss
Injuries- Bender, Len (GTD)

Here is what our Pros think about this game-

Kings
Start ‘Em- Buddy Hield, Willie Cauley-Stein
Sit ‘Em- Ty Lawson

Suns
Start ‘Em- Alan Williams, Devin Booker
Sit ‘Em- Eric Bledsoe

Game Notes- This game presents the most value of any game on the slate. It all starts with my boy Buddy Hield, who I absolutely love for some reason. Ever since coming to the Kings his minutes have gradually increased. He shoots a ton of shots and really creates space for himself causing him to score a good amount of buckets. His price is fairly cheap, but his ceiling is so high. He is the guy that is immediately plugged into our lineups especially going up against the Suns. This game is going to be fairly close and the over/under leads us to believe that there Is going to a ton of scoring. Any player from either team is playable.

Here is what our Pros think about this game-

Thunder
Start ‘Em- Any Starter
Sit ‘Em- N/A

Nets
Start ‘Em- Sean Kilpatrick, Jeremy Lin
Sit ‘Em- Caris LaVery, Brook Lopez

Game Notes- The two fastest teams in the NBA means the best value is coming right here. Do yourself a favor and start Russell Westbrook. His price is getting ridiculous, but he is honestly playing insane right now. He plays the Brooklyn Nets, and the only thing holding him back is the blowout risk. Start your lineup around him as this game is going to set records in scoring as both teams just launch a ton of shots and run in transition often. Overall, there is no bad play on the Thunder, but we will say it again.. START RUSSELL WESTBROOK!

Stacking Your Lineup to Win at DraftKings/FanDuel

We get this question from you guys all the time. “I’m new to Daily Fantasy Football. What’s the one piece of advice you have that will help me win a BIG contest?” Seriously? We typically shake our heads when we hear this question. It takes a lot of hard work and time to win big consistently. You need to study hundreds of players and thousands of stats, and of course, you’ll need some luck too. Now that you have an idea of the work that goes behind it all, our next answer is, “We recommend Stacking Players.”

So, What in the World Does ‘Stacking Players’ Mean?

The short answer: Stacking Players involves placing 2 or more players on the same lineup that have positive scoring correlations with each other.

In layman’s terms: start two players from the same team, and when a score happens, both players receive fantasy points; also, this is typically a QB stacked with a WR, TE or RB (when the RB receives a lot of dump passes).

The Strategy to Stacking Players

First, identify a game where a high number of points scored is expected. Then match up the two players that are expected to pair up to account for the majority of these points. We’ve seen player stacks account for 40% and more of the points scored in a person’s lineup, which moves the needle from ‘out of money’ to the ‘top of the payout’ list.

Stacking QB and WR

Let’s say the Packers play a team with a bad secondary and you want to insert Aaron Rodgers into your lineup. Who is Aaron Rodgers’ favorite target? The answer is Jordy Nelson. Nelson has a positive scoring correlation with Rodgers. Therefore, one Packers touchdown can score your DFS team double the points! So, in a situation where you think a QB is going to score a lot of points, you may want to pair him with his favorite targets like a WR or TE. Rodgers to Nelson, Brady to Gronk, Roethlisberger to Brown, and so on. You get the idea!

Unconventional Stacks to Think About

QB/WR stacks are not the only way to stack a lineup. You can also stack a Running Back with a D/ST. Do you think Arizona is going to dominate the Bills this weekend? Then you might want to play David Johnson and pair him with Ari D/ST. If Arizona’s defense shuts down the Bill’s offense, then your D/ST scores you points. Correspondingly, Arizona will most likely run the clock out in the 2nd half by giving David Johnson a lot of carries. You can even stack players from opposing teams. Do you think the Cowboys vs. Giants game will be a shoot out? If so, you may want to play Dez and OBJ on the same ticket.

Stacks to Avoid

Now that you understand positive scoring correlations, you can make sure you don’t assemble lineups with negative scoring correlations. In other words, don’t put Cam Newton and Jonathan Stewart on the same ticket. One player will most likely take touchdowns away from the other. You may also want to, in most cases, avoid playing two WRs or RBs from the same team on the same ticket. It’s better to choose one or the other.

To Stack or Not to Stack?

When to stack your ticket is just as important as how to stack. You typically don’t want to stack your ticket in a 50/50 contest. In 50/50 contests, you want to build lineups with low risk, consistent players. Stacking is a strategy often used in tournament (GPP) style contests. To be successful in a GPP, you need all your guys to hit big. Stacking your ticket is risky because it’s essentially putting all of your eggs in one basket. But when you’re right, it pays off immensely! After all, it’s high-risk and high-reward.

Did you know that stacking is a strategy the pros use to win big money in big tournaments? Will you step up your game? Are you ready to play like a pro and win like a pro? The Pros at DK Legends are ready to help you get your game to the next level!
