Welcome to the Big League, Ian Happ
Ian Happ is Making a Splash
Ian Happ, the 22-year-old switch hitting rookie for the Chicago Cubs, is raking the baseball since his call-up to the majors. The former Triple-A Iowa standout is batting .400 in three games with the Cubs and already has two homeruns in his young MLB career. Happ has shown great promise and has been batting cleanup in the Cubs lineup, which means that he is going to have a lot of chances to bat in some guys as he bats behind Schwarber, Bryant, and Rizzo. Happ’s call up came from injuries to Heyward and Zobrist, and Joe Maddon has hinted that he has no intention of demoting him when Heyward and Zobrist get healthy. Happ was batting .298 in Triple-A with 9 homeruns in 26 games, which is beyond impressive. Happ is quickly being added to fantasy leagues and we recommend making room for him on your roster.
Should You Start Ian Happ In DFS?
Absolutely. The kid is batting cleanup for the Cubs, and he is a good value at $3,000 on FanDuel. His price is going to increase over the next several weeks, so make sure to get a piece of the action before his value dissolves. We will be monitoring how things may change when Heyward returns, but the 22 year old will find most likely have a spot on the roster for the remainder of 2017 and beyond.
