DraftKings Week 5 Deep Sleepers

DraftKings Week 5 Deep Sleepers

We highly recommend using our Pro picks when playing DraftKings, but if you’re building your own lineup, you’ll find that sometimes you have to go deep and add a cheap guy so you can fit under your cap. Here are a few guys that will score you points and not break your bank for Week 5.

$3,000 Cameron Meredith (WR-CHI)– The Bears offense has been plagued with injuries this season. Kevin White is on IR, Jeffery is gimpy, Zach Miller has a rib injury and Eddie Royal isn’t practicing because of a lower leg issue. Meredith had 4 catches on 5 targets last week and will most likely see an increase in usage. The Colts are very weak in the secondary and their best corner, Vontae Davis, will most likely shadow Jeffery. Meredith has great value at $3000.

$3,000 Zach Zenner (RB-DET)– Dwayne Washington is not expected to play in week 5 and Theo Riddick has proven that he is not an effective runner in between the tackles. Enter Zach Zenner. “He’s one of those guys that every time he touches the ball, something positive happens” – coach Jim Caldwell. Zenner played 5 snaps last week after Washington went down. He had 3 carries for 12 yards and one catch for 22 yards. He also got a goal line carry. The Lions indicated that they will use him more this week. Keep an eye on the injury report. If Washington doesn’t play then Zenner might be a sneaky value play.

$3,000 Kyle Juszczyk (FB-BAL)– Last week Juszczyk caught 6 passes for 56 yards on 7 targets. Some might see this stat line as an outlier and that may be so, but Flaco looked to Juszczyk in the red zone and this week’s opponent (Washington) is vulnerable to pass catching RBs. Baltimore’s RB situation is a little cloudy but it is completely in the realm of possibility that Juszczyk scores a touchdown this week.

$3,000 Cordarrelle Patterson (WR-MIN)- The 2013 1st round pick has found new life in a Mike Zimmer offense that is looking for ways to deal with life without Bridgewater and Peterson. Last week Patterson played on 36 offensive snaps. Patterson is the kind of guy that just needs to touch the ball once to score. He’s a long shot but he is very talented and the Vikings seem recommitted to getting him touches.

$3,000 Adam Humphries (WR-TB)– Can you name another $3,000 WR that has 29 targets in the first 4 games? Humphries is the #3 WR in a high volume passing offense. He is playing behind an aging and increasingly ineffective Vincent Jackson. Humphries has a low floor, but he also scored 22 points in week 3. If you need to get cheap at WR, Humphries may be your guy.

$2,900 Richard Rodgers (TE-GB)– Jared Cook is out this week so Rodgers will be starting at TE. Rodgers has a good report with Aaron Rodgers and the Packers face a Giants team that is below average against the TE. Rodgers is a good play if you need to get cheap at TE.

$2,900 Cameron Brate (TE-TB)– Brate is the starting pass catching TE on an offense that likes to throw the ball. He has 18 targets, 10 receptions for 113 yards and 2 TD in the last two weeks. This week he plays against a vulnerable Panthers team. Brate is a good value right now.

$2,500 C.J. Uzomah (TE-CIN)– The Bengals are one more week without Tyler Eifort. The Cowboys don’t play the TE position well so someone will step up this week. Uzomah hasn’t been spectacular so far this season but he had a respectable performance last week and for $2,500 you won’t find many better options.
